Fake fundraisers on Facebook try to cash in

As police continue to search for Hannah Graham, some may try to take advantage of your desire to help. A local organization centered around finding missing women says it is not raising money, despite what a message circulating on social media claims.

Help Save The Next Girl is asking you not to click on a link on Facebook or Twitter this is trying to raise money. 

It's offering you a place to donate. It's not clear where the money goes. The message uses the hashtag #BringHannahHome.

The man in charge of the missing women's group Help Save the Next Girl says he did not set up an account or authorize the use of their name. He doesn't know where this money goes.

It's all just a reminder to do your homework before clicking on a link, even if the sender reaches out to you on social media.
