CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Chesterfield police have released the identity of the woman killed Wednesday in a shooting at her home, as well as the identity of the man who authorities said confessed to police Wednesday night that he had shot and killed his wife.
Delesha Bowden died Wednesday night at VCU Medical Center as a result of her injuries. Chesterfield police found Bowden, 27, suffering from a gunshot wound at her home in the 3400 block of Summerbrooke Drive.
According to police, almost at the same time police arrived on the scene, a man arrived at police headquarters claiming that he had shot his wife at that address. Officers at headquarters detained Corey Bowden Sr., 42. Thursday morning, Bowden was arrested and charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in relation to the incident. Thursday afternoon, police obtained a warrant for first-degree murder for Bowden. He is currently being held without bond in the Chesterfield County Jail.
