Chesterfield family robbed in their own driveway, suspect on the run

Chesterfield police need your help finding an armed and dangerous suspect. He's accused of robbing a family in the driveway of their Selwood Road home.

"That's scary," said neighbor Elvin Ward. "That's real scary."

The thief is described as a black male with a slender build standing about 5 feet 5 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, jeans and a black mask covering his face. Chesterfield Police say the suspect approached residents in their driveway in the 5000 block of Selwood Avenue. He allegedly pointed a gun at them and demanded cash.

"People work too hard for their money," said Ward. "That's how people get hurt."

Police say the suspect took close to $5,000 dollars in property and cash.

"It is a very bold maneuver to make," Master Detective Chris Rizzuti. "If this person is bold enough to do this on someone's property. They are bold enough to do it again."

The suspect has been on the run since June 8, 2014.

"People do speak to their friends about things they have done," said Master Detective Chris Rizzuti.  "We are hoping that if anybody has any kind of information they will give crime solvers a call. You'll remain anonymous. You won't have to appear in court."
