MIDLOTHIAN, VA (WWBT) - The last three seasons have seen Cosby lose just six regular season games combined. The Titans are building a tradition of success and after adding achievement to the list last year, they enter 2014 looking for a postseason run.
Cosby finished the 2013 campaign with a 7-3 regular season record, but what may have stuck with the Titans the most is a heart-breaking loss they suffered in the program's first ever postseason game. Cosby fell at C.D. Hylton, 19-16, but head coach Pete Mutascio says he's confident the team was another five minutes away from getting the win, as they gained momentum and put together a solid cap to the contest.
Now that the players have a taste of the postseason, they're entering 2014 hungry. Mutascio says the expectation is no longer just getting to the playoffs, but winning games once they get there. Several players added that they're working to make a postseason run, not just one game.
Cosby returns six starters on each side of the ball and is filling in the rest with what the coaching staff feels are capable players.
The Titans kick off their 2014 season at home on August 28 against Thomas Dale.
