Search continues for missing 3-year-old

Good morning from Gray. Here's a look at some of the stories you will want to catch before you leave the house on 12 News Today.

This morning, officers across the state are actively searching for a 3 year old boy believed to be in danger. The toddler has been missing for 5 days now, but police say they have developed some strong leads overnight. His name is Tommy Lee Able Engle. He's been missing from Patrick County since Friday - but officers didn't believe he was in danger until just last night.  Authorities believe the little boy's father, 34 year old Tommy Lee Travis Engle may have abducted the child.

Developing this morning, State Police are investigating the death of one of their own, after a recently retired trooper is found dead. Master Trooper T.E. Hudson was found dead in a camper is Mathews County. Hudson had been recently as a part-time Mathews County deputy.

Breaking: State Police confirm a Powhatan teen is dead this morning after crashing his car into a tree. It happened along Old Buckingham Road. Police say 19-year-old Larry Lafoon ran his car off the road around 10 last night. Speed is being considered as a factor.

The State Board of Elections, is considering revising Virginia's voter I-D rules.  Right now, expired drivers licenses, and passports are considered valid photo I-D's for voting purposes. A proposed amendment, would eliminate that option. The Attorney General has warned the current law might be unconstitutional.
