3 teens charged after escape from Farmville Juvenile Center

FARMVILLE, VA (WWBT) -

Three teens will face charges in an escape from the Piedmont Regional Juvenile Center over the weekend.

Two 17-year-olds and a 15-year-old will be charged, according to State Police. Both 17-year-olds face escape, conspiracy, breaking and entering and grand larceny charges. One also faces an assault and battery charge. 

The 15-year-old did not successfully escape and faces an attempted escape charge, along with an assault and battery charge and conspiracy charges.

Police were notified of the escape at 6:25 a.m. Saturday and spent six hours trying to track the teens down. Authorities eventually captured them 10 miles from the juvenile center along the High Bridge Trail.

The two who escaped are serving time on charges related to violent crimes.
