Good morning from Gray. Here's a look at some of the stories you will want to catch before you leave the house on 12 News Today.
We're following breaking news out of Henrico County--where police are investigating two overnight shootings. The first happening on Cleary Road around 11:15. Police say one man was shot--and rushed to VCU Medical Center. His condition is not known. Officers are still looking for the suspect. The second shooting happening on Alma Avenue around 12:40. Officers say a man was shot and taken to VCU Medical Center--he is expected to be okay. Police do not believe the two shootings are connected.
We're watching today as the case of a man accused of hitting and killing a Hanover mom --- heads to court. Back in January, Meg Menzies was running with her husband, when court records show Dr. Michael Carlson, ran his car into Meg and killed her. He's due in court at 10 this morning.
Happening Today, if you live in New Kent, you'll have a chance to ask questions about a permit to allow industrial waste -- to be used as fertilizer. If approved, the product would go on top of hundreds of acres of farmland in the county. Company Synagro wants state permission to dump the sludge but a group called "Citizens Against Sludge" wants county leaders to oppose the permit. That work session begins at 9am.
