HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Paprika sold at a number of stores in Connecticut is on a national recall list.

"Ecoato" Sweet Paprika Powder products sold at T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods stores may be contaminated with salmonella.

TJX Companies said it learned of the risk from the Food and Drug Administration and took rapid action to alert its stores to remove the product from shelves.

The product comes in a 160-gram light green tin package and is marked as lot #8147 with an expiration date of Oct. 2015.

TJX estimated that about 150 units were sold between June and July of this year.

No illnesses were reported.

Consumers were urged to return the paprika for a full refund.

Anyone with questions about the recall can call TJX at 1-800-926-6299.

The FDA is continuing to investigate so it can locate the source of the contamination.
