ABINGDON, VA (WWBT) -

Two Virginia men connected to one of the largest cock fighting operations in the country have pleaded guilty in court Friday.

Jonathan Robinson, 33, and his father Wesley Dean Robinson, 57, of Wise County, Virginia are accused of sending roosters and bird-fighting knives to the Big Blue Sportsmen's Club in McDowell, Kentucky.

Jonathan Robinson faces up to 35 years in prison and a fine of up to $1.75 million. Wesley Dean Robinson faces up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $750,000.

"Animal fighting is a brutal and illegal activity that brings along a host of associated crimes that we will not tolerate," said Attorney General Mark Herring. "This was an extraordinary investigation which showed determination and cooperation, and I'm glad my office has been able to contribute."

Two other men, Walter Dale Stumbo and his son Joshua Dale Stumbo, face charges for running the cock fighting operation in Kentucky. They face up to 50 years in prison and a fine of up to $2.75 million.
