U.S. Marshals arrest Hopewell shooting suspect

HOPEWELL, VA (WWBT) -

U.S. Marshals have arrested a suspect wanted for a shooting in Hopewell earlier this month.

Police responded to the 400 block of S. 21st Ave. around 11 p.m. on July 2 for reports of a shooting. Police found a 17-year-old shot in the shoulder. He was taken to John Randolph Medical Center where he was treated and later released.

Hopewell Police charged Karl White, 20, with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, discharging a firearm in a public place, and possession of firearm by convicted felon.

White was arrested Tuesday in Hopewell by U.S. Marshals. He is being held at Riverside Regional Jail.
