Gamers to compete for $10M in 'The International' DOTA 2 tournament

Professional gamers from around the world will be competing this weekend for a prize pool of more than $10 million.

Thousands have gathered to watch The International DOTA 2 grand finals beginning Friday, where teams of five will compete by playing Valve's PC game 'Defense of the Ancients 2' in a double-elimination bracket tournament, with the winning team earning nearly $5 million.

Professional game tournaments, also called e-sports, have been on the rise - The International will even be aired on ESPN.
