VUU's Robbins honored with lifetime achievement award

Legendary Virginia Union men's basketball coach Dave Robbins was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Coaching award Thursday night during a banquet in his honor at the University.

Robbins coached the Panthers from 1978 to 2008 and won three division II national titles at the school.

He coached five future NBA players during his tenure at the school.  At Thursday's banquet, former pro's Ben Wallace, Charles Oakley and Terry Davis were on hand to celebrate coaches career.

Robbins won 713 games at Virginia Union.  All proceeds from the night's event will go toward 

establishing the Dave Robbins Endowed Scholarship for Virginia Union Student-Athletes.
