RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Three people have been indicted in connection to a downtown Richmond robbery attempt that left a jewelry store employee dead, according to just unsealed documents.

Prosecutors say a fourth could be indicted by the end of the month.

Muhammad H. Baig, 29, was found shot and killed inside Victoria Jewelers at 309 East Broad St. around 4 p.m. on May 5, according to detectives.

Four people were arrested in connection to the case. Anthony Lenard, Jermeaka Gorham, and Jesse Edmond were arrested in North Carolina. Paul Townes Jr. was arrested in Richmond.

The grand jury has indicted Lenard, Townes Jr. and Gorham on first-degree murder, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and two counts of use of a firearm. Lenard and Gorham also face possession/transportation of a firearm by a felon.

According to the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, they are waiting for Edmonds to be extradited from North Carolina and brought into custody in Virginia before indicting him. He is expected to be back as early as the end of July, though it could go into August.
