Arthur is now a hurricane

Good Thursday morning from Heather.

We are experiencing technical difficulties. We are working to bring you our newscast on-air as soon as possible. We apologize for the delay.

Arthur has been upgraded to a hurricane. A hurricane warning is up for a wide swath of the North Carolina coast even though Arthur is still a tropical storm and not expected to hit land. North Carolina's Outer Banks, a popular getaway spot of thin barrier islands along the shore, could be hit the hardest.

The looming storms have already changed-up some big firework plans in the River City. Fireworks on the James on Brown's Island has been moved to Saturday night, instead of this evening. Unfortunately, all the entertainment before the event won't be rescheduled to the later date. But, organizers promise the display will be spectacular, especially with thousands of people expected to watch the show.
