COLUMBUS, OH (WBNS/CNN) - An off-duty fire lieutenant had to be resuscitated Saturday after being struck by lightning in the parking lot of the Columbus Crew stadium.

The fire department battalion chief says the lieutenant went into cardiac arrest after the strike. He was taken to a local hospital, where he is in critical condition.

The fireman, who is in his 40s, was at the stadium to attend a charity soccer match, which had been postponed because of the weather.
