Changes are coming to the downtown route for the proposed AMP rapid transit route.
Engineers were planning a station on Broadway at Fifth Avenue but the slope of the street at that intersection is too steep.
To get around it, the bus line is going to run down Broadway until turning on Eighth Avenue for one block to Commerce. The route will return to Broadway on either Fourth or Fifth Avenue.
The route will loop around the Music City Central downtown bus station and travel back toward the Metro Courthouse before crossing the Cumberland River via the Woodland Street Bridge.
The 24-member Citizen's Advisory Committee held its third meeting on Tuesday.
The committee members rode the proposed AMP route in an MTA bus from East Nashville to Saint Thomas West hospital.
The project is moving forward as engineers continue the design phase.
