GOOCHLAND, VA (WWBT) -

A Goochland ranch using horses to help heal hopes an online contest can help fuel its launch.

Susan Clark's dream is to use horses in times of conflict and challenges. Many of the animals at Hay Day Ranch are rescue horses, and the therapy helps them, as well the people they work with, to learn to trust again.

The startup is just getting off the ground and Clark wants a new barn for the five rescue horses and four donkeys, money for scholarships to provide free help to kids and a trainer to work with the horses.

She entered her business in an online competition through the Wells Fargo Works Project in the hopes of winning $25,000 to fund the program.

The big prize will go to whichever program gets the most votes. Entries can be made once per day per computer and voting ends in a week.
