RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

A new Twitter account is dropping clues on how you can get free food around Central Virginia.

The Twitter account @Eat4FreeOnMe is sending people on scavenger hunts for free munchies around the Richmond area, much like similar accounts which offered hidden cash.

The anonymous person behind the account says it is just a way to give back. The creator arranges with the restaurants to have free food or gift cards in advance and then drops clues leading to the reward.

The account only started posting on Monday night with a clue about a downtown restaurant with a famous recipe, then posted a picture of General Robert E. Lee as the next clue.

However, no one showed up at was Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken to claim the free food.

The second effort was more successful, posting a photo of Willow Lawn and promising 25 free ice cream cones. This time 15 were claimed.

The account now says it's looking for a cause and hopes to give away more food.
