New Kent sheriffs search for home invasion attacker

NEW KENT, VA (WWBT) - New Kent sheriffs are searching for a suspect in a home invasion attack in the Lanexa area.

Sheriffs believe someone forced their way into a home on Rockahock Road home on Tuesday and hit a man who was inside. He was bleeding from the head when the homeowner returned around 2:42 p.m., found him and called police.

The man was flown to VCU Medical Center. Sheriff deputies would not release his condition, citing federal privacy laws.

Sheriff's units were on the scene until into the night and are still investigating. They don't believe the attack was random and say nothing was missing from the home.

Authorities ask the public to call Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000 with any information on the case.
