The HEAT is on! Andrew has been warning us about this all week. He has the details on the steamy forecast. With this heat-wave, the City of Richmond is opening cooling shelters at 11am. 2 locations: Southside Community Center on Hull Street Road and Department of Social Services on Marshall Street.

Happening today, the doctor accused of hitting and killing a Hanover jogger with his car will be in a court. Doctor Michael Carlson is charged with involuntary manslaughter and D-U-I in the death of Meg Menzies.

Plus, we are watching to see whether or not a state budget will be signed into law. Governor Terry McAuliffe is expected to speak today in Richmond. We will keep you posted on if he discusses the budget.
