Family, police search for woman who may have killed her mother

For the first time, we're learning more about the woman who may have stabbed an elderly woman to death. Prince George County Police have named the victim's daughter as the person of interest.

No one has seen Alana Renee Cole since she allegedly killed her mother back in April. Now, their family is making a desperate plea for help.

We spoke to 67-year-old Lana Sears' children at a meeting with police. Lana was found stabbed to death in her Prince George County home April 25.

Her 42-year-old daughter walked away from the crime scene and hasn't been seen since.

Neighbors say, they are scared the alleged killer is still on the loose. While the family says, they want closure.

"We just never thought she'd do anything like this," said Tracy King about her sister. "We need help, we need the public's help it's like she dropped off the face of the earth and we don't know where she's at."

Prince George County police say, they've tried tracking Renee with no luck.

According to family, Renee left the area with no money, no car, no friends and no reason to kill their mother...

Tracy King and her brother Eric say, Renee is their older sister and that she changed after a bad car accident. Renee began talking to herself and hearing voices.

But nothing could have prepared them for the death of their mother allegedly at the hands of their own sister.

"I think that makes it harder," Tracy said. "That our own sister did this. We want to find our sister but we miss our mom."

Prince George County Police are only naming Renee Cole as a person of interest. If you have any information that can help investigators, give police a call.
