Developing: A Republican battle for the record books--in a surprising victory--Professor David Brat unseats Representative Eric Cantor for the 7th district seat. After learning of his victory, Brat said,  "this is the happiest day of my life." We have an update on the political shakeup. Join us for live reports here at home and from D.C.

More than 1300 people throughout the area are without electricity due to strong storms and lightning. Andrew is tracking the system and will let you know how long this system will stick around and what you can expect throughout the day.

In a few hours, the Henrico Teacher accused of attacking a student is due in court. John Amoroso faces an assault charge.  Police say the attack happened at Tucker on April 21st -- but Amoroso was charged a week later.

Richmond police are looking for two armed robbers. It happened around 12:30  this morning at a home in the 600 block of Luton Lane. That's near Jahnke Road.  A man was unloading groceries behind his home, when he says two men with guns came up to him.They took his money, but didn't hurt him.
