Richmond Police canceled plans to go door-to-door in Hillside Court Thursday, saying they've made strides in their investigation into the shooting of a 23-month-old.
Police were scheduled to take their search for the shooter back to the streets in Hillside Court, where the little girl was critically shot on Sunday. The child was in her home on Harwood Street when two people reportedly got in an argument, fired the shots and left the area.
Mayor Dwight Jones and Police Chief Ray Tarasovic both expressed their outrage over the lack of witnesses coming forward in the case on Tuesday, but now it appears more information is coming to light.
Police won't go into details about the advances they've made in their investigation, only to say the canvass is canceled and the investigation continues.
