Posted: Updated:

From Auburn Sports Information:

Auburn freshman right-handed pitcher Keegan Thompson added another honor to his ever-growing list Wednesday as he was named a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball.

Thompson, a freshman from Cullman, Ala., was one of the Tigers' most consistent starters on the mound, making 12 starts and putting together a 5-3 record with a 2.01 earned run average in 89.2 innings pitched. The right-hander led the team with 73 strikeouts while walking just 23 opposing hitters, and he held opponents to a .192 batting average.

Offensively, he made 33 starts between first base and designated hitter, batting .244 with 13 RBIs.

Thompson was previously named to the SEC All-Freshman team.
