Hopewell Police searching for suspect in armed robbery

Hopewell Police are looking for a man that robbed a 7-Eleven store clerk at gunpoint early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the 7-Eleven store at 2311 Oaklawn Boulevard in Hopewell at around 3:16 a.m. Sunday, for a report of an armed robbery. Police said the lone armed offender entered the business, brandished a large framed handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

The robber then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'7"-5'9" with a heavy build. He was last seen wearing a faded blue/gray denim style jacket, blue jeans, and a black stocking covering his entire head with light colored bags covering his footwear, and light colored gloves.

The Hopewell Police Department's Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this matter and is requesting that anyone who may have been traveling in and around the area of this incident and observed the offender or any suspicious people or vehicles, contact Detective Mike Parsio of the Hopewell Police Department at (804) 541-2284.
