SPOTSYLVANIA, VA (WWBT) -

Two women have been arrested after a Spotsylvania woman was found murdered, and investigators say one of the suspects is the victim's daughter.

Nancy Mercer was found dead in her home on May 18.

Christina Brown, 25, and Alaina Mercer, 25, have been charged with felony conspiracy to commit murder. The two were arrested around 9 p.m. Friday in King George County.

Investigators say the suspects attempted to flee when they heard that deputies had arrived, but the two were found in a nearby residence and taken into custody. They are being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
