Henrico police investigating collision between car, private ambulance

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

According to the Henrico County Division of Fire, no patients were in the private-service ambulance involved in a car accident on John Rolfe Parkway Thursday afternoon.

The ambulance from Forrest Ambulance Service was partially on fire when Henrico fire crews arrived on the scene at the intersection of John Rolfe Parkway and Lauderdale Drive. A driver and two attendants were in the ambulance, which was responding to a call for service in the county, Henrico fire authorities said.

The ambulance driver and two occupants in the car that collided with the ambulance were transported to the hospital for treatment. None of the injuries were reported as life-threatening.

No Henrico Division of Fire vehicles were involved in the accident. The accident is under investigation by Henrico Police.
