RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Lightning is believed to be the culprit in an apartment fire that broke out in Richmond during heavy storms on Wednesday night.
The fire was reported in the 900 block of Lisson Crescent in St. John's Wood. According to authorities, firefighters saw flames coming from the second floor of the building when they arrived. Crews battled the fire in the attic of one apartment building.
Authorities said fire crews are ensuring that the fire won't spread to neighboring apartments. No one was injured in the fire.
A woman and child are being helped by the Red Cross.
