Pair of credit card thieves strikes in Chesterfield

Posted: Updated:
CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

Two men are wanted by Chesterfield authorities in connection to a string of fraudulent credit card purchases made last month.

On Tuesday, April 15, someone attempted to use eight different credit cards to make a purchase from the Walmart in Hancock Village Shopping Center in Chesterfield. A ninth card was accepted for two separate purchases. A second suspect attempted to use four credit cards to make purchases from the same Walmart at the same time. A fifth card was used and accepted. The victims had been contacted by their credit card companies and alerted to the fraudulent purchases. Both suspects are described as white men.

The thieves were quick. Authorities said before the cards could be canceled, the same suspects made purchases from the GameStop store in the same shopping center. During interviews with the victims, it was learned they did not lose possession of their credit cards, yet their accounts were programmed onto the cards used by the suspects.
