RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

A Richmond man pleaded guilty to murder and robbery charges in connection with a stabbing in December on the Northside.

Benjamin Dancy could face life in prison when sentenced in August 19. Prosecutors say incriminating DNA results on the murder weapon came back two to three weeks ago and likely prompted him to change his plea.

Dancy was arrested after two women were stabbed while working in the rent office at Chamberlayne Garden Apartments, near the intersection of Chamberlayne and Westminster avenues. Police say Dancy was tying to rob the office.

Della Scott, a wife and mother of two, died from her injuries.

Police credited surveillance cameras and tips from the community for the arrest.
