RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

A Richmond man will spend three years in jail for child pornography charges.

Phillip Dietrich pleaded guilty and will have to register as a sex offender once he's out of prison.

The Attorney General's office said Dietrich shared pornographic images of children on the internet. When officers got a hold of Dietrich's computer, they found 24 child porn images, 65 videos and other images labeled ‘jailbait' and "child erotica."

According to the Attorney General's office, Dietrich pleaded guilty on April 16 to three counts of possession of child pornography, and he was sentenced to three years in prison and an additional seven years suspended, followed by probation and registration as a sex offender. The office said in 2010, Richmond police discovered Dietrich was sharing over 1,000 child pornography images on the internet.

Authorities said Dietrich was on the run for about a year before he was found in Henrico in January.
