RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A health inspector reported finding some food that had gone bad in one restaurant. In fact, they couldn't make out what food it was.
It happened at Nanking, 7408 West Broad Street in Henrico. The inspection report says the restaurant had five critical violations, plus six more non-critical. Among them, the inspector noted that some unknown food in the walk-in refrigerator had gone bad, and some ginger was moldy. The Nanking staff threw out the bad food and corrected other problems during the inspection. Nanking's annual permit was renewed.
In Richmond, Mom's Siam Restaurant at 2811 West Cary Street had eight critical violations, plus nine more non-critical. At this Thai restaurant, the inspection report said the chicken was not cooked to a sufficient temperature to eliminate pathogenic bacteria, only reaching 123 degrees. The report says they continued to cook it to the required 165 degrees and corrected other issues during the inspection.
No problems to be found at this week's NBC12 Hall of Fame Award winner, Cafe Delicious, inside an office building at 4435 Waterfront Drive in Henrico. It has aced 4 health inspections and hasn't had a critical violation in two years.
