HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

A Henrico mom calls 12 On Your Side after her son is hurt in a hit and run accident. He was riding his bike home from Glen Allen High School.

"I was a wreck," said Lisa Rexrode. "I just went running out the door."

The accident happened at Staples Mill and Warren Road near the 7-Eleven. Police say the driver kept going.

"And you know when you hear your kid has been struck by a car," said Lisa. "That's the worst nightmare."

Lisa still gets tears in her eyes thinking about those terrifying moments on May 1.

"He is not a piece of trash to just hit and leave lying there," said Lisa.

Her son, Noah, has been bedridden for days.

"I flipped over the handle bars," recalls Noah, who was treated for a concussion and a jaw injury. "I couldn't even bite. I couldn't even eat my food."

Noah says he has also suffered from non-stop headaches that are now starting to subside. Mom is just happy her son is alive. She is pleading for help finding the driver.

"Who did this to my baby?" questioned Lisa.

Noah says the driver had dreadlocks. He says the car was gold or silver. If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
