NEW KENT, VA (WWBT) - Residents of a New Kent mobile home park were evacuated Monday after sheriffs say they uncovered a meth lab.

Authorities were initially called to New Town Road for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Once there, they found a residence was broken into and arrested two people leaving the scene.

Jason Meade, 25 and Whitney Marcinak, 23, are charged with burglary and larceny.

Sheriffs say their investigation led them to the Woodbourne Kampground mobile home park on Hopewell Road, where they say they found an active meth lab and a marijuana grow room. Deputies seized lithium batteries and over the counter cough medicine, and evacuated nearby residents for their safety.

Jessica Jaglois is on the scene and will have details coming up on 12News.
