Shop and Go robbery suspects caught on tape shopping minutes earlier

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Shocking surveillance video captures the moments when two masked men stormed a Richmond convenience store. Now, the police department needs your help to identify the suspects.

The Shop and Go owner says the same security system that captured the robbery on tape was also rolling just minutes prior, when the suspects were shopping with their masks off.

Nooralodin Harvey has owned the store for nearly two years with his cousin. That cousin is the clerk being robbed in the video.

Harvey said the suspects came in and told a customer to get on the ground then demanded cash. Once they were handed the money in the cash register, they fled to a getaway car with a third suspect behind the wheel.

According to Richmond police, they drove eastbound on Carver Street in a light-colored minivan or SUV.

Harvey said those three men were in his store about 15 minutes beforehand, without masks and again, caught on surveillance video. He said they bought a few items but Harvey believes it was a ploy to survey the store.

Harvey said he's not sure how much money was taken but luckily, no one was hurt.

"I'm happy because my cousin is fine," he said. "Money, it come and go."

If you see the suspects or the SUV, you're urged to call crime stoppers at 804-780-1000.
