Police: Carjackers in eastern Henrico take victims' car and pants

Posted: Updated:

Police are investigating two violent carjackings in Henrico County.  The first one happened Monday in the eastern part of the county, the second one happened on Tuesday in the western part of the county.

Now, police are investigating if the cases are connected.  The victims in that east end case say the suspects took off with their car and their pants.

Two suspects are on the run in both of these carjacking cases.

The carjacking on Monday happened just after 9pm on Eastover Avenue. A neighbor told NBC12 that the victims ran to another neighbor's house for help.

Many people who live here were asleep when it happened.  John Woo was taking out the trash.  "Police were outside with flashlights," he said.  "I guess trying to look around to see if there was any evidence."

His  neighbor told him why officers were there.

"He told me some men came up to his door and were asking for help," he said.  "And that they had been stripped down."

Officers say the victims were driving towards Williamsburg Road when a man, opened the rear passenger door, jumped into the car and took out a knife.  Police say once the driver was threatened at knife point he slammed on the breaks and that's when the second suspect got into the car.  Police say the second suspect placed a knife to the passenger's neck and both victims were told to take off their pants and get out of the car.

"It's pretty interesting to hear but it was more scary than anything because a lot of people that live around here is close knit," says Woo.

The next day, officers got another call for a carjacking on Quioccasin Road, a short time later a bank was robbed.  Witnesses told police; one man came in with a gun, the other was the getaway driver.

If you know anything the could help police in their investigation call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000. Police say nobody was injured in the both carjackings.
