Clippers owner banned for life from NBA, fined $2.5M

NEW YORK, NY (WWBT) - - NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced his decision to suspend Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling for life and fine him $2.5 million over racist statements.

Silver announced the league's investigation found the recordings released over the weekend did, in fact, contain the voice of Sterling making racist remarks. Silver says Sterling admitted it was his voice in the recordings.

Silver said he will also push to force a sale of the Clippers from Sterling.

NBA greats Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant have condemned the racist comments, as has President Obama.
