GOOCHLAND, VA (WWBT) -

The man suspected of killing three people at a Jewish community center in Kansas once crossed paths with the Goochland County sheriff.

Frazier Glenn Cross is facing murder charges and was back in court Thursday.

Sheriff James Agnew said he dealt with Cross back in 2006, after a series of anti-Semitic leaflets were dropped in driveways throughout Goochland. Agnew recalls exchanging words with Cross after he threatened to sue over free speech.

Agnew told Cross that it was against the law to throw any paper or trash on people's yards in Goochland.

Cross' hateful views were well-known to both the FBI and his community in southwest Missouri. His family also has a history of violence.
