Officers searching for suspect in South Richmond shooting

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Richmond Police are investigating a shooting on the Southside that sent one person to the hospital.

Police tell us the victim was shot around 10 p.m. Saturday in Hillside Court near the intersection of Harwood and Lone Streets. They say the man was rushed to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Right now, detectives are still trying to piece this together, so if you know anything call Crime Stoppers (804) 780-1000.

    The American Automobile Association says they expect nearly 1.2 million Virginians to travel this Memorial Day weekend, which is up 5 percent from last year. Not even gas prices that are 50 cents higher than last year are stopping the wave of travelers.
