Breaking: Chesterfield fire crews say a person had to battle flames with a garden hose after a fire breaks out at their home. Now investigators say it all may have been caused by a cigarette. The scene is in the 5700-Block of Sara Kay Drive, around 11 last night. That's right off of Salem Church Road.
Play ball! The season home opener for the Flying Squirrels happens today at 6:35pm. The Diamond will see the first action of the year as the Squirrels take on Altoona Curve this evening. But with the ongoing Shockoe Stadium debate, could we be seeing one of the final opening days at the Diamond?
It was supposed to be over with yesterday, but this morning, the Petersburg 'Boil Water Advisory' remains in effect. and for certain parts of the city. There's no word, on when it will be lifted. The water pressure is fully restored -- after a major water line burst Monday morning, leaving thousands in the southeast section, of city without water, for more than two days now. As soon as the advisory is lifted -- we'll update you on air and on line.
