Pit bulls no longer considered 'inherently dangerous' in Maryland

Posted: Updated:

Maryland (WWBT) - Maryland has passed a bill overturning a 2012 case that declared pit bulls to be "inherently dangerous."

The bill undoes the ruling from the Maryland Court of Appeals in Tracey v. Solesky. Many found the ruling controversial because it not only held pit bull owners liable for any attacks - it also targeted the owner's landlords.

Governor Martin O'Malley signed the bill on Tuesday.
