Victims identified in deadly tractor-trailer crash in New Kent

NEW KENT, VA (WWBT) - Three people were killed and a driver was injured when their car crashed into a tractor-trailer in New Kent Tuesday afternoon.

The car was trying to cross Route 155 from Kentland Trail and failed to yield the right of way to the tractor-trailer, according to State Police. The southbound truck driver then hit the car.

The driver of the car, Saul A. Gonzalez-Hernandez, 65, was taken to VCU Medical Center with serious non-life-threatening injuries.

Julio C. Gonzalez-Hernandez, 61; Javier D. Ferrer, 25; and Jose A. Lopez-Velasquez, 26, all died from the crash.

Saul A. Gonzalez-Hernandez has been charged with reckless driving.
