Fairfield Elementary students to spend rest of year at Clark Springs

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Issues with a leaking roof at Fairfield Court Elementary School mean students will attend Clark Springs Elementary School for the remainder of the year, after Spring Break.

School officials believe there is enough space at Clark Springs Elementary School to house both schools' students without bringing in trailers. The school system will then begin repairs on Fairfield Elementary School, though the timeline and cost is not clear.

The leaky roof forced officials to relocate some students Monday.

Parents have been notified via ParentLink and notices will go home with students Tuesday. The school system will hold a meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Clark Springs Elementary School to answer parent questions and give them an opportunity to see the school.

Fairfield Elementary School students will only spend two more school days on their current campus, because there is no school Friday and Spring Break is next week. They will begin classes at Clark Springs on April 21.
