Richmond police continue search for CVS robbery suspect

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Shannon Macklin often stops by the CVS at 6807 Forest Hill Avenue. She like others we spoke with on Sunday were alarmed to hear that the store had been robbed.

"This is a very safe neighborhood where we live, and a lot of people moved to this area to get away from things like that. To hear that something like that happened in this neighborhood is disheartening," Shannon Macklin said.

This is not the first time this has happened at this CVS on Forest Hill. Back in July of last year a man tried to rob the CVS slipping a note to a cashier demanding cash and drugs.

Police have not said whether the two crimes are connected.

The surveillance photos show the man walking into the store and standing behind a counter. Police say the man is somewhere between 35 and 40-years-old, and 5' 10" tall.

Several shoppers we spoke with say while the area is not prone to high crime, they are always on alert.

"You can never feel that you are in area that you are in area that does not provoke crime so you should be on your P's and Q's at all times." said another customer.

Police say the suspect got away with drugs and an undisclosed amount of cash. Frequent shopper Shannon Macklin says she will be on the look out from now on and encourage others to do the same.
