RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - In this week's Politifact Virginia report, Governor Terry McAuliffe argues if the General Assembly doesn't expand medicaid, Virginia is essentially giving away money to other states:
"In America right now, 27 states are going to get our money - Virginia taxpayer money - into their states to provide health care for their citizens, paid for by us."
Is that true? Are 27 other states getting "our money" if Virginia refuses to expand medicaid? Politifact says that claim is "mostly false."
Reporter Sean Gorman explains the benefit for the 27 states who have expanded medicaid is the same whether Virginia participates or not. You can read more on politifactvirginia.com.
