Breaking news: Another mass shooting at Ft. Hood in Texas. Federal agents say a soldier with mental health issues opened fire, killing three people and injuring 16 others. We're on the air with live updates.
After the shooting, the commanding officer at Ft. Lee in Petersburg said security there is "unchanged and operating as normal" but is asking "post leaders to immediately review active shooter and shelter-in-place plans."
It's been another sleepless night for many residents along the far north coast of Chile after a sharp aftershock to a magnitude 8.2 earthquake that killed six people. The aftershock with a magnitude of 7.6 did not appear to have caused any new major damage or casualties. A tsunami warning and evacuation have now been rescinded.
