The ROC announces new Senior Pastor

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

ROC member Alfrieda Brown was over joyed after witnessing what she and other members are calling a step in the right direction.

Alrieda Brown says, "I already see the spirit in him already, I already know."

Joe Donahue from Georgia was named senior pastor at The ROC Saturday night. It is a day members like Brown say they've been waiting and praying for.

"Service was awesome you have to give God the highest praise. Hallelujah," said Alfrieda Brown.

The ROC launched a search for a new pastor in June of last year after former pastor Geronimo Aguilar resigned. Aguilar was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting an 11 year-old girl and her 13 year-old sister in Fort Worth, Texas.

Donahue was introduced along with his wife Kristy. Several people in attendance told me that the Pastor and his wife didn't have much interaction with them tonight but are expected to greet and talk with members sometime next week.

That meeting can't come soon enough for Alfrieda, despite the past she says she will always remain loyal to God and her church.

"He is the one that God sent and I'm going to be with the ROC forever," Brown said.

A Question and Answer meeting will be help with new Pastor Joe Donahue and his wife on April 3rd.
