Lawmakers resume battle over budget, medicaid expansion

Good Monday morning, it's Heather!

Virginia state lawmakers are back in Richmond to pass a roughly $96 billion two-year budget and decide whether to expand medicaid. The General Assembly is set to start a special session today. Lawmakers adjourned from the regular legislative session two weeks ago without passing a state budget. Chrystina Head is reporting live at the Capitol.

A man was attacked and robbed of his headphones about 9:30 last night at East Broad and 2nd Street near Jackson Ward. He's expected to be okay but police don't have a clear description of his attackers.

Officials say hopes of finding anyone alive are fading in Washington state where a massive mudslide killed at least eight people but crews pulled another all-nighter searching the debris. After hearing shouts for help late Saturday, yesterday brought only silence. A number of people remain missing.

It's chilly this morning. Andrew will have an update on our chance for a rain snow mix tomorrow!
