In this edition of the Restaurant Report, a health inspector reported seeing a restaurant employee spit out some water into a sink being used for food prep. The good news: the report says food was not contaminated.
The restaurant was New New Top's China at 3820 Mechanicsville Turnpike in Henrico. It had 5 critical violations on its last health inspection. The report says the employee was rinsing his mouth with water after eating and spit into the three compartment sink. But all violations were corrected when the inspector returned 3 weeks later and its permit was just renewed.
Also in Henrico, Bubba's Restaurant at 4000 Williamsburg Road had 4 critical violations, including that the interior ceiling of the ice machine had pink slime. The report shows two violations were corrected during the inspection. We contacted the manager, but did not hear back.
Moving to Richmond, Cielito Lindo at 4702 Forest Hill Avenue had 4 critical violations including that milk and half and half creamer in the reach in cooler were not being kept cold enough. The report shows all violations were fixed while the inspector was still on site.
Longhorn Steakhouse at 11311 West Broad Street in Henrico is known for its passion for grilling, inspired by the American West. It wins the NBC12 Hall of Fame Award for its passion for clean, healthy standards. Longhorn has aced its last three inspections in a row.
