RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

VCU Ram Nation is revving up for a huge weekend of March Madness.

The Havoc is heading to San Diego as the VCU Rams men's basketball team is making its way to its first face-off in the NCAA tournament.

Ram Nation fans are displaying unstoppable momentum.

Despite nasty weather, "Rowdy Ram" supporters lined up to high-five their home team, as players made their way on the bus.

"It's very exciting," said Kaleigh Smith, an elementary school student watching her favorite Rams board the bus.

VCU Ram basketball coach Shaka Smart was also in line, posing for pictures with crowd members. The VCU Pep Band filed in their bus, headed to play on the team.

"The crowd is cheering. We convert fans from the other team, to VCU fans," said senior band member Aryn McClain.

"San Diego should know that we are different from every other basketball team in the country, and to prepare for us, because we are taking over," said fan and VCU student Andrew Brown.

The VCU Rams will face-off against Stephen F. Austin State University from Texas, Friday night. The winner will play on Sunday. Whatever happens, VCU's team has huge support from their hometown, as always.
